Places like France want to ban Muslim headscarves because, to them, the garment symbolises the oppression of women. Then what about other places in the world where seemingly emancipated clothing like jeans and t-shirts just as strongly symbolise the exploitation of women? Who's right and who's wrong? What are we really arguing about here?
