Khadija: My best buddy, Mark, was paralyzed from the neck down due to a mountain bike accident -- about 2 weeks after Christopher Reeve's equistrian accident. Mark passed away Feb. 2006 at the age of 61 and over 10 years after the accident.
Lots to write about Mark, and his wife, Susie; but the essence of the two was their amazing attitude. Super-man & Super-woman. They had a message on their fridge that read: "A bad attitude is like a flat tire; your not going anywhere until you change it!" And, I never saw either of them with a bad attitude. They are my heros. Whenever I think I'm having a bad day I think of Mark -- never a comparison -- my instant attitude adjustment!! Frankie
